NCIV invites program staff at Councils for International Visitors to view ten video productions, each approximately ten-minutes long, on the basics of eCIV: Introduction into the IVLP; Configuration; Data Entry; Loading Projects, Creating a Local Program, Printing the Local Program, and Searching, Exporting, Local Program Related Reports and Proposals . They are intended as both an introduction for new staff and a refresher exercise for veteran users of the application. Video #1 Introduction into the IVLP
This brief tutorial provides an overview of the International Visitor Leadership Program, the various public and private sector partners involved, and the special tools used to run this unique public diplomacy endeavor. Video #2 Configuration
Creating defaults will save you time and provide consistency in your data.  This video provides instruction on how to set defaults as well as how to add and change users. Video #4 Loading Projects
This video illustrates how to use eCIV to download IVLP project data from the IVPrograms website.  The downloaded information is then discussed and the user is shown how to add the local CIV to the project itinerary in preparation for creating a local program and for printing IV bios in the desired format. Video #5 Creating a Local Program
The steps involved to develop and edit a complete local program for International Visitors are presented.  The user is shown how to select resources, hotels, transportation and cultural information to include in the local program as well as how to preview how the final program will appear. Video #6 Printing the Local Program
After you have drafted a local program, this video explains how to configure the report function to generate the local program in the style and format preferred by your organization. Once the local report is generated as a Word document you can edit the text and add pictures and maps. To view, click here. Video #7 Searching and Exporting
The presentation shows the various ways you can search for data in your eCIV database, then export the data as a file (Excel, Word). The exported file can then be used, including in a mail merge, to generate lists, letters, and reports. To view, click here. Video #8 Export, Usage, and Statistics Reports
The video explains in greater detail the versatile ways you can search data in your eCIV database, then export the data into Excel or HTML. You can select information for mail merge documents, for the annual NCIV Impact Report, the Community Partnership Grant Report, the IVLPDiscrepancy Report as well as local CIV reports on resource usage, IVs hosted, and much, much more. In addition to printing a local program, users can generate welcome letters, thank you letters, appointment requests and confirmation letters as well as different types of evaluation forms. eCIV provides a standard template for each type and the tutorial illustrates how to customize the template and create an entirely new one.
